“Packing Out of the High Country” is a western painting depicting a cowboy guide packing out of Teton National Park. Baumann first painted this scene from a plein air sketch on location in Teton National Park without the cowboy and horses. Then he repainted it on a larger canvas in the studio, adding a western theme of a cowboy and horse team.
