Artist’s Comments
Lost legacy is a tribute to the Blackfoot tribe of Native American Indians who inhabited Glacier National Park. When I visit different National Parks, I am aware of the rich Native American heritage of those who inhabited these lands long ago. In each of our PBS television series episodes, “The Grand View,” we include an interview with an elder of the tribe who recalled the land that was once his home. The elder talked about what he remembered about living in the vicinity when it was their sacred land before other settlers came, and before the area became a National Park.
