Artist’s Comments
This painting called Onions and Garlic is an example of my studio studies of objects that inspire me. I have always loved to paint the skin of garlic and onions and these models were presents from one of my students. She grew them in her garden. I was inspired to paint them but I had to do it quickly before they found their way into my stew. One of the great things about being an artist is that sometimes after you paint the still life model, you can eat it later for dinner.
