Artist’s Comment
I painted this painting of bison on location gathering on a fall day in Yellowstone National Park near Old Faithful Basin. The great American Bison almost disappeared entirely from our landscape when they were slaughtered in the 1800’s. It is said that at one time there were as few as 29 Bison left and it is amazing how they have made a comeback. This painting is in tribute to the American Bison and celebrates the American West.
